Cute Clarabelle

Yay! A new handbag for my online shop. Here is her story:

"Cute Clarabelle is the lovely combination of a vintage tablecloth and some salvaged denim. Topped with recycled buttons and lined with a pretty pink vintage print, Clarabelle is ready to leave the kitchen table and see what lies ahead in her new life as a handbag!"
She's available in my Etsy store.

New Scrummy Mummy Nappy Bag

I've finally managed to stock up on some new nappy bags. Here is one made from a lovely pink and yellow floral vintage print and some sturdy brown salvaged fabric remnants.

See more here.

Kick plastic wrap to the curb...

Look at these cute sandwich wraps from Etsy's Abeego.

It's scary when you think about the amount of plastic most people go through just to wrap their daily lunch!

So why not grab a few of these wraps? You'll be helping to reduce the world's reliance on plastics and these little wraps are so cute they'll make you feel happy every lunch time.

Check them out here.

Last chance to go in the draw...

Is It Fate?

The minute I officially crowned white as My Favourite Colour I noticed that one of my favourite vintage clothing stores on Etsy, Dear Golden, had listed two lovely new white pieces.
I officially declare this to be I Heart White Day. You can pick up these divine pieces here.

What's Your Favourite Colour?

'What's Your Favourite Colour?'
It's one of those quintessential questions you get asked all through your life. And it's never been a question that I've ever been able to answer. I've feebly replied 'green', 'purple' and 'yellow' before but I never really meant it.
Well today is a triumphant day because I've finally realised that my favourite colour is white. Yep, WHITE.
And if anyone out there is thinking, 'White is not a real colour', I don't want to hear it.
Because I'm in love.
I think it was the above pics from atlantabartlett.com that finally confirmed my decision.
The mr has always loved brown. Think tweed coats, brown wool cardies, old worn reading chairs and basically the entire 1970s.
Luckily brown and white are a match made in heaven. Perhaps we could live here:

Percival Road

Anastasia from Percival Road has just let me know that she has featured one of my Bridal clutches on her gorgeous blog.

I had the chance to meet Anastasia at the Finders Keepers markets and she's so lovely. Check out these super cute greeting cards she makes from vintage images. Too divine!

You can grab one for yourself at her Etsy Shop.

Overnight Love

I have been doing lots of custom orders lately. While they are definitely a bit more work, I find they're the best way to get inspiration for new lines. After all, it's a customer telling you EXACTLY what they want. It's the best market research available!

Above is a pic of an overnight bag I created recently for a super stylish girl who loves her retro. This was so fun to create and I will definitely be churning out some more overnighters soon.

At the moment I am working on lots of custom bridal orders. Will be sure to post pics of some in the coming weeks.

The whimsical world of weddings...

My assault on the wedding world continues!
Since ReJenerate made it's little appearance in Bride-To-Be Mag I have been contacted by lots of lovely brides (worldwide!) and am having so much fun creating bridal clutches, gifts for bridesmaids and all things whimsy, white and gorgeous!
Soooo what wedding day is complete without a vintage fabric ring pillow??? See more here.

'Let Them Drink Tea' Salvaged Tea Cup Candles

Those of you who have dropped by to visit me at markets and exhibitions may have caught a glimpse of my little vintage and salvaged teacup candles.
Why turn unloved teacups into candles? Because I like tea, I like recycling and I really like things that smell faintly of vanilla.
These little cups of loveliness run out the door at markets and people are always asking me if they're available online. So now they are!
More to come soon.
Please note - prices in US$

Cosa Verde

Cosa Verde is a new marketplace connecting independent artists with eco-conscious consumers. This month, ReJenerate's wares are being showcased.
Check it out. And while you're there, take a squiz at all the other fab eco wares available.

The Matchbox Project

Have you heard about 'The Matchbox Project'? I just heard about it today and it has me enchanted. Here's the blurb:
Each week, a decorated matchbox with a tiny present hidden inside is left by a girl (and sometimes willing friends) somewhere in her travels. It's a random act of semi-artistic kindness aimed at disrupting someone's day in a tiny but positive way. That's if they dare to pick it up...

Everything about this Sydney-based project appeals to me. I will now have my eyes peeled everywhere I go in the hopes of spying one of these divine little box of goodies...and you better believe I'll dare to pick it up!

Anyone heard of someone who has been on the receiving end of one these little cuties?

Supper

Found this gorgeous photo of a rustic table all set up for a fun, girlie supper over on the decor8 blog. Wish one of those settings was for me...

Today I'm Obsessed With...

Today I'm obsessed with...Kelly Smith.
There is some serious talent going around in Australia in the form of young female artists right now.
I've blogged before about Bec Winnel from My Charlie Girl and her gorgeous work (and she's lovely and funny too!) and now I am falling in love with the work of Kelly Smith (another Smith - we're practically sisters!).
Do yourself a favour and check out Kelly's 'Birdy & Me' Etsy Shop and grab yourself one of her fashion illustrations before she's so popular you can no longer afford them! :)

Haven't raved about Zooey for a while...

Brought to you by the 1970s...

Boy have I been a slack little blogger! Where have I been you ask? Buried under a 30kg pile of vintage fabrics!!
On the weekend I caught up with a friend I used to work with in my film industry days. She had recently helped her grandparents move and came across a huge stash of fabrics that her grandma had been storing since the seventies.
To my delight, I sprang in to her mind and she gave me a call to see if I would be interested in using them. Would I??!!!
The fabrics are just gorgeous and there is so much of it that the muscles in my arms are still sore from carting the huge pile around the place...not sure if that's more a reflection on the size of the stash or the weediness of my arms!!
Anyhoo, you can see a few of the fabrics hanging out to dry above. I have been washing and drying for two days and am still only about a third of the way through. Lucky I had a cute little helper in the form of our dog Alice :)
In other news, I have been busy working on a few custom items and will probably introduce the new styles into my range shortly so stay tuned...

Finders Keepers Markets

Well I sure have been quiet the last few days! Things have been really busy and I have been stuck in my little office, getting stuff done.

But tonight I ventured out into the real world and helped out Angela from Leeloo with her stall at the Finders Keepers Markets.

As usual it was crazy, packed and lots of fun.

I'll be back at the Leeloo stand tomorrow so be sure to drop by and say hi.

Sure, she's had an interesting and exciting life already, but Violet can't wait to try out life as a handbag. Want some company for life's adventures? Violet's your girl!"

Retrospections, Cammeray

Things have been a little crazy lately so there are a few things I haven't had a chance to blog about.
Last week I went along to the grand opening of Retrospections in Cammeray and I just had to post about it and include a few pics (from an article in the NorthSide) of their gorgeous stock.
The shop focuses on vintage and handmade items and it's success has been mind blowing! Retrospections owner, Justine Joffe, is working day and night to keep the stock coming in faster than it's walking out the door.
I think it's a testament to how ready Sydney is for a Melbourne-esque store that is a little left of the centre. Well done Justine and best wishes for your continued success!
Pop by the store at 498a Miller St, Cammeray.

More buttons for my stash...

Picked these little babies up at The Vanity Fair Vintage Market in Leichhardt on saturday. I was like a kid in a lolly shop, but managed to confine my purchases to a handful of vintage buttons...oh and a lovely vintage dress.
That was a good day.

Betsy Bobbins Hair Bows...

What better to make with vintage fabric scraps than pretty, sassy hair bows? Get them here and here.
Note - prices in US$.

Shout Out To Mum

Just wanted to give a shout out to my gorgeous mum. Yesterday we shared tea and pancakes and lots of laughs to celebrate Mothers Day.
We didn't get to spend enough time together, but we did manage to fit in a bit of excited handbag talk.
I have some new designs in the works and I couldn't get them off the ground without mum. She is an amazing sewer and has a fabulous eye for design.
Without her, I'm not sure ReJenerate would exist.
So thanks mum, for helping me chase my crazy dreams. You rock.

Today I'm Obsessed With...

Today I'm obsessed with Dujour Magazine. It's filled with fashion art, photography and lots of handmade, vintage and indie loveliness. And best of all...it's carbon neautral!
That makes me happy.
The mag is out of the US and is available through Mag Nation in Australia. Unfortunately it's a touch on the expensive side so if, like me, you can't justify $70 for a magazine and you prefer trees to remain trees rather than glossy mags, be like totally 21st century and subscribe digitally.
It's less than US$10 for a whole year! Good times.
