Chemical Cocktail

That's the working title for artist, Renee Anne's new series. I loved her last series and these are just as awesome but a little more ballsy and...well...really cool. Nice moves Renee!

Sustainable Addiction...

Ok...maybe not quite.
But my coffee addiction is now a little more eco friendly thanks to Keep Cup, 'the first barista standard reusable coffee cup'.
I've mused about the huge number of disposable coffee cups used every day in Australia before so I was so excited when I spotted this cute cup in the pages of my fave mag, frankie.
Is there any problem frankie can't solve?
Can't wait for this little gem to arrive in my mailbox. Hurry up Mr Postman!

Peggy Go-Lightly

I have been wanting to make a smaller size handbag for a while now. I am told that not everyone wants to lug their entire lives around on their shoulder like I do. Weird.
But seeing I have started to walk a little lop-sided lately, I figured it might be a good time to develop the 'Go-Lightly' range. So this is Peggy, my first creation.
You can see more here.

I spotted these little guys on the front page of Etsy. How cute are they??

These two squirrels are in love, plain and simple. But, they know that they have to work together to maintain their relationship. Compromise and team work are key. Together they hold their little love up.

Awww. Want them? Get them here.

New stockist - Madame Chan's

I'm really excited that ReJenerate now has a stockist in my home town of Balmain in Sydney. You can visit them on Darling St, they have a great mix of boutique fashion labels and handmade goodies.

And check out their Facebook Fan Page too.

Stationary Lust

I'm not sure if I've blogged before about my stationary fetish...but it's pretty hard core.

Usually Etsy or Aussie indie designers give me the fix I need, but I definitely gasped when I saw this too cute for words stationary kit from Cath Kidston.

I would looove to carry this little pouch of gorgeousness around in my handbag.

'Fly Away With Me' Bridal Clutch

I found this divine vintage bird brooch on my trip to Melbourne and I've added it to a bridal clutch for a touchy of whimsy romance.

I'm quite in love with this brooch though and will be a little sad when it comes time to ship it off.

More details here.

I've finally had a chance to add a Bridal Clutch to the 'Waste Not Want Not' range.
Because what wedding is complete without a vintage doily??

Home Sweet Home

Every time I fly into Sydney Airport I have an overwhelming feeling of happiness and excitement.
I think Sydney could learn alot from Melbourne, and from so many other cities I have visited around the world, but the truth is that Sydney is my home and when I'm away, I miss her like crazy.

My kind of retail therapy...

One thing I have discovered about Melbourne is that they don't have quite the same obsession with 'shiny and new' things that Sydney seems to. Vintage and pre-loved is definitely the epitome of cool in Melbourne and vintage and second hand stores line all the trendy streets and are styled and merchandised so well.

Pics above are from The Thread Den in North Melbourne which is packed with indie design and vintage clothing and bric a brac. It even has a room filled with sewing machines where they run lessons and craft nights. Love it!

The Mr. picked up an orange and brown 70s tie...this seemed to appease him after I made him walk all the way from our Fitzroy B+B after having already walked the whole of Smith St and Brunswick St that day. That was a tiring day!

Even the op shops in Melbourne display awesome merchandising. There was so much cool stuff available in this shop (above) on Brunswick St.
And of course...one of the coolest stores we visited was The Sticky Institute - 'the world's only known zine store'. Picked up a few gems here.

So much to drool over, so little time.

Like a kid in a lolly shop...

Today we discovered The Lost & Found Markets in Fitzroy. If you love all things vintage and/or pre-loved...you HAVE to go here. It was unbelievable...chock full of vintage goodies...I spent the first 15 minutes running in circles not knowing where to look first!
Unfortunately it wasn't particularly cheap so I had to refrain myself a little but I left with some vintage fabric, table cloths, buttons and brooches and the Mr scored some awesome vintage vinyl...70s punk from memory.
This has been one of our best finds and if I lived in Melbourne, I think I'd be checking in every week.
Why do we not have one of these in Sydney???

So many cafes so little time

We have discovered some awesome cafes so far in Melbourne. Today we had a three cheese pizza prepared by a French chef in the funkiest little cafe on Smith St in Fitzroy. My cholesterol levels must be severely elevated but it was totally worth it :)
Pics above are from Von Haus on Crossley St in the CBD. Got this recommendation from the Hide & Seek guide to off-beat places in Melbourne and I'm glad we did. It was laid back, unpretentious, a little rustic and served fantastic food and wine. Go there.

Laneway Love

Melbourne has this awesome grungy vibe that lends it so much depth and character. It never tries too hard and is effortlessly cool.

The graffiti covered laneways are one of my favourite parts of Melbourne.

Little Cupcakes

This is where we found our first Melbourne coffee. Little Cupcakes on Degraves St.
Last time we were in Mebourne we were super excited about the food/coffee scene and ended up being really disappointed. We had terrible food and even bad coffee everywhere we went!
So we did lots of research this time to make sure we found the good spots...and this was definitely a cute and delicious way for Melbourne to redeem itself! Yum.

Fitzroy Fancy

Guess what? I'm in Melbourne! Very happy.
Just quickly checking my orders/emails etc and then I'm off to explore Melbourne from our Fitzroy base.
So keep an eye on my blog over the coming days for my Southern adventures. Very exciting.
Although - I gotta say, they really don't exaggerate about the Melbourne weather. Bloody hell.
No more sunny temperate winter days ala Sydney. Oh well...perfect excuse to hit the sea of vintage stores in search of some lovely new woolly wears.
Now...where to for the first latte...

Current Girl Crush

I'm sad it is no longer last week. Now that it is this week, Lisa Mitchell is no longer the feature album on Triple J.
I was loving singing along to her poppy, folksy, whimsical tunes last week. And even though she started out on Australian Idol...well I forgive her and love her anyway.

Design Your Own 'Slouchy Sienna'

I have had lots of comments from people that they love my label and constantly check my website waiting for that 'perfect' bag to appear -the one that jumps out and screams 'TAKE ME HOME!'.

Sometimes they get a little annoyed if I haven't managed to create it yet! :)

So with that in mind, as well as the success of my custom bridal range, I have decided to introduce a 'Design Your Own' option for my slouchy bags.

You can check it out here.

And by the way...how cute is my model? It's the goooorgeous Renee from Art4Friends. Thanks for making my bags look so good Renee! :)
