Bob Boutique

Just had to blog one more time about Bendigo's Bob Boutique. It is just too damn cute.

In the pic above you can see five of my handbags sitting in amongst all the other gorgeous goodies.

And for those of you not lucky enough to live near Bob Boutique, you can still pick up my handbags from their website. Yay!

Celebrate Fashion Week with Oxfam and ReJenerate and win 'Baby Billie Blue'!

Well today I have some SUPER EXCITING news!

ReJenerate has teamed up with the wonderful folks over at Oxfam and we are holding a fabulous give-away of a ReJenerate original, 'Baby Billie Blue' (below) in celebration of Fashion Week.

Three Things is a fabulous new project at Oxfam designed to get people thinking and talking about ideas on what makes our world tick and how we can make it better.

It's such a fantastic project and really innovative as it is a whole new take on the way not-for-profit organisations have worked in the past.

Rather than asking people to donate time or money to achieve Oxfam's overall goals, Three Things asks people to look at their own lives and their own little corner of the world and try to live responsibly and ethically within that space.

This made ReJenerate a natural partner for Three Things, thanks to the green principles behind the products and the brand.

So how do I win the handbag you ask???

Well just head over to Three Things Facebook Fan Page and leave a comment on their wall listing your three favourite items in your wardrobe. It's that easy!

And don't forget to become a fan of Three Things while you're there!

And of course, while you're on Facebook, become a fan of ReJenerate too.

Good luck!!

Floral Fifi

And one more today! This is Floral Fifi and here's her lil life history:
"Floral Fifi started life as a piece of chic upholstery fabric in the sixties. She waited patiently to take her place in a posh lounge room, posing her was through society cocktail parties, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Now it's the 21st century and she still hasn't lived and mortifyingly is suddenly being referred to as 'vintage fabric'! Luckily she has finally been combined with salvaged fabrics and buttons and 'rejenerated' into a handbag...so she's bringing some sixties chic to the noughties!"

Tabitha Tea Party

Here is the latest addition to the ReJenerate range...'Tabitha Tea Party'!
Here is her tale:
"Tabitha likes tea parties. In fact, Tabitha likes parties in general. What she doesn't like is being a wallflower. She had enough of that in her previous life as a vintage fabric - watching all the other fabrics being made into gorgeous things. Now that she has been combined with a pre-loved skirt and 'rejenerated' into the most divine of handbags, she's ready for her time to shine. Now somebody pass the tea please."

Rad Recycling

I am constantly looking for new products that follow the recycling theme. In case you hadn't noticed, I really get into recycling :)
I just found the above products and I think they are some of the best I have seen.
The first pic is a lounge made from a discarded bath tub. The second a chair made from an old shopping trolley and the third is a desk made from a salvaged aeroplane wing. How great is that?
I am completely in love with the bath lounge...unfortunately the company, 'Reestore' is based in the UK.
Guess I'll have to resort to taking some cushions into the bath tub for now...

Some very exciting news for Sydney-siders!

There is a divine new shop opening in the North Shore suburb of Cammeray. It is called 'Retrospections' and is located at 498a Miller St.

The shop's owner, the lovely Justine Joffe, has an amazing eye for design and a penchant for all things vintage, retro and handmade. And this is what she has lovingly stocked her gorgeous corner shop with.

So if you are after a stunning and unique gift, something special for your home or perhaps a vintage book or handmade toy, do yourself a favour and head for Cammeray. You will not be disappointed!

And best of all, it is the first bricks and mortar boutique in Sydney where you can pick up a Rejenerate creation (more stockists to be revealed soon!). Retrospections has a lovely range of my bags and clutches available.

Here is a sneak peek at a couple:

"Mod Mary-Jane screams sixties sexiness and shows-off serious vintage cred. The combination of a funky vintage print, pre-loved buttons, a salvaged belt for a strap and recycled fabric for lining makes Mary-Jane green and gorgeous. Up & Coming Design Expo

I have spent the day setting up my space at the 'Up & Coming Design Expo' in Paddington Church (the same grounds as the super awesome Paddington Markets).
The exhibition will run from thursday until saturday and showcases lots of talented young designers so be sure to swing by and check it out. Entry is FREE. Yay!
Now I am off to the opening night with my girl date, Ange from Leeloo, who my hubby thinks is tops as her accompanying me means he can stay home and play Xbox instead of enduring small talk and fashion parades! :)

Today I'm Obsessed With...

Today I'm obsessed with this divine handmade lingerie from Melbourne's 'Hopeless Hotel'. They're not the cheapest undies going around, but gee whiz are they lovely!

Be sure to do some virtual widow shopping on their website, or even better use that stimulus money to support this handmade Aussie label!

Retro Rhonda

This morning's offering, 'Retro Rhonda':

"Retro Rhonda started life as a super trendy Scandinavian fabric in the sixties. Now that retro is cool again, Rhonda is raring to re-invent herself! Paired with a pair of salvaged curtains and topped with recycled buttons, Rhonda is retro, recycled and ready to roll!"

Find out more here.

Rosy Ramona

Ooooh this fabric is so girlie and so pretty!

Here's Rosy Ramona's story:

"Rosy Ramona is retro, recycled and oh-so ravishing. Starting life as a divine vintage upholstery fabric, she never got the chance to try out life as a lounge in the sixties. Now that she has been lined with a pre-loved skirt and 'rejenerated' into a show-stopping handbag, Ramona is ready to rock her life as a handbag in the new millennium!"

Blue Lulu

Yay! I have a few more bags ready to be added to my online shops now. Stay tuned, as there are more to come.
This is Blue Lulu, and here is her story:
"Blue Lulu may be blue in colour, but not in spirit! Lulu is the combination of a gorgeous vintage fabric, pre-loved shirt, unloved skirt and recycled buttons. Now that she has been 'rejenerated' into a statement making handbag, Lulu is ready to start a new life and leave the blues behind!"

Somebody Stop Me...

On Friday night I hit the 'Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textiles Show' and I'm pretty sure that I now know how a kid feels at Disneyland!

There were so many divine vintage fabrics and buttons and bits and pieces that I had to really pace myself to keep my inner manic shopper from surfacing. She can be a scary character...
I made a promise to myself that I was there strictly on 'business' and didn't look sideways at any of the gorgeous fashion or jewellery...I don't know how I did it. But I think I still managed to take out their 'best customer' award.

Thank You Coffee...

I am on a crazy creating spree right now. I have sent lots of handbags out to my lovely stockists so my stock levels are running LOW.
I have the 'Up & Coming' exhibition next week so every surface in my house is currently covered with vintage fabrics, random bits of second-hand clothing, pins, scissors and of course...COFFEE!
Hopefully I can update my online stores soon too so there are lots of lovely new bags available.
Watch This Space!

My Little Piece of Cyber Space...

I don't think I have ever actully blogged about my website.

It has just had a bit of a make over and in my humble opinion, it's looking pretty damn cute.
At this stage, the crazy world of online shopping still alludes me, but it is in the short term plan.

Until then, there is lots of info on the site, and links to external sites where you can pick up some Rejenerate goodies.

So please head on over to http://www.rejenerate.com.au/ and check it out!

It feels pretty great to own your own little corner of Cyber Space!

'Little Splash of Vintage' Clutch

As most of you know by now, I am a fan of recycling. I am not a fan of throwing things away unnecessarily.

So even when creating with vintage and recycled fabrics, I refuse to throw away any scraps or off-cuts. Instead I hoard them away like a crazy woman with the idea of one day turning them all into one huge, fancy patchwork handbag that is completely mismatched and all over the place but somehow uber-cool.

Well that hasn't quite happened yet and my little workspace is being overtaken by fabric scraps so I have designed a little clutch/pouch that can be made with the off-cuts of my vintage and pre-loved fabrics...now that's recycling!

Here is the first creation in the 'Little Splash of Vintage' range:

This particular clutch is made from a groovy sixties fabric, lined with the material from a pre-loved shirt and topped with recycled buttons.

At just $35 a pop, I think they're a really cute way to add a little vintage to your outfit.

See more details here.

All Wrapped Up...

One of my lovely blog readers just forwarded me this pic of a 'wrapping cabinet'. I'm in love! I have no idea where this is from or how to get my hands on it but I must have it!

Me and Candy Spelling

It seems like every time I turn on the news (well on the commercial stations anyway) I am confronted with Candy Spelling's face and pictures of her $150 million mansion.

Apparently it's on the market and is the most expensive house for sale in the US. Um...great. But aren't there senseless wars going on and devastating humanitarian disasters? Shouldn't reporters be busy with these issues? Apparently not.

Anyway, upon hearing the story for the 7th time, I realised that Candy is actually a woman after my own heart. She has a 'gift wrapping room'!!! Now if I were rich and famous that's something I could go for.

I love, love, love wrapping gifts and do have a special spot in my workspace that is entirely dedicated to wrapping my creations before sending them on their way to their new homes. I also have several drawers dedicated to storing all the recycled tissue paper, ribbon, wrapping paper etc that my friends save for me so that I can package my handbags prettily without feeling guilty!

I thought having one surface space entirely dedicated to wrapping was extravagant but apparently good ol' Candy has THREE gift wrapping rooms in her mansion!

Surely she wouldn't mind passing just one of them onto me?

Kris Roe Solo Show

We headed to the Oxford Art Factory last night to watch Kris Roe from the Ataris (pictured above with the band) perform in an acoustic solo show.

Although I haven't listened to the Ataris for years, this show was too intriguing to pass up as I love acoustic shows and there was a promise of 'focusing on the old stuff'.

I have to say that Kris has aged a tad and I'm not sure that he gets away with the teenage anthems like he used to. But he does have a bloody good voice and eventhough his songwriting can get a little cheesy, generally it's really great and it definitely made me, the mister and all of our mates feel more than a little nostalgic!

It was a bit random when he got the support band on stage at the end of the set so that he could 'rock out' a little. It was weird watching him perform Ataris songs with another band...should've stuck to the acoustic bit.

Anyhoo...not sure why I suddenly appointed myself as a gig reviewer but there you go :)

Autumn Audrey

Here is Autumn Audrey, the latest addition to the Rejenerate range. Here is her story:

"Autumn Audrey started life as a stunning kimono but now that she's Down Under, she decided it was time for a change. Combined with some recycled wool and topped with some pre-loved buttons, Audrey has been completely 'rejenerated' into a one-of-a-kind handbag. Audrey's past life as a kimono means that she's used to showing off and being admired so get ready to be the centre of attention when you hit the town with Audrey!"

Audrey is available now in my etsy shop.

Curvy6 Launch

Last night I went along to the launch of the 2009 edition of Curvy with a few of the girls from Leeloo.

For those who aren't familiar with Curvy, it's a fabulous all-girl art book put together by the good people at YEN Magazine.

This year's edition features 120 female artists from 39 countries...and it does not disappoint!

All of the art was just amazing, and there was free beer so all in all it was a pretty good night :)

In my eyes, there were two artists who particularly drew my attention.

The first was Bec Winnel of My Charlie Girl.

She is the artist behind the gorgeous illustration on the cover of this month's Peppermint Mag.

This is one of the limited edition prints she had on display last night:

She also had an original on display which absolutely took your breath away.

You can pick up the above print at My Charlie Girl's etsy shop.

My other favourite was an Israeli artist by the name of Shira Sela.

This one is called 'Human Nature' and is just stunning. I ordered a copy from her etsy shop this morning. Be sure to check out her work.

Congrats to all the incredibly talented female artists featured in Curvy 2009. You're amazing!
