Peppermint Mag Feature

I am hovering impatiently by the door this morning, waiting for my mail delivery which will hopefully contain lots of lovely new (well pre-loved really!) fabrics and even better...the latest edition of Peppermint Mag!
This lovely magazine is packed full of gorgeous green fashion and this issue also features an in-depth look at fair trade fashion.
And most excitingly, this issue features one of Rejenerate's handbags, Groovy Greta.
There she is...in the centre of the page...

And here is a closer shot. She is made from the funkiest 60s fabric...

Greta is available online. Snap her up here!

If you would like to pick up a copy of the latest Peppermint Mag and delve into the world of green fashion, it's available at Borders and selected newsagents. Or keep it simple and pick up a copy online at Leeloo.

Happy Reading!

Jungle Jane

Here is the latest handbag to the Rejenerate collection, Jungle Jane. Here is her story:

"Jungle Jane may look like she'd be at home in the jungle, but it's the concrete jungle she really thrives in. Starting life in the seventies as a set of funky curtains, Jane is so over playing the role of wallflower. Now that she has been completely 'rejenerated' into a one-of-a-kind handbag, lined with another set of pre-loved curtains and topped with recycled buttons, Jane is ready to bring a little nature into your life while you help save the planet!"

New Stockist - Leeloo

Well it's been a crazy week at Rejenerate HQ (my tiny, awkwardly shaped loft office!) so I apologise for the lack of posting.

However, I've got lots of new bags to come and some very exciting news.

Leeloo, the gorgeous online boutique, is now stocking an exclusive range of Rejenerate handbags.

Here is a peek at the range:

Mod Marcia:

"She's mesmerising, she's mischievous and she's oh-so-mod. Handcrafted from two sets of vintage curtains, Mod Marcia has been completely 'rejenerated' into the perfect sized handbag. Pop Marcia over your shoulder and you'll be gripped by the unshakeable desire to jump on a scooter and make haste to the nearest nightclub to boogie the night away!"

Find out more here.

Nouveau Norma:

"Nouveau Norma is not your average handbag. Having been handcrafted from a stunning vintage fabric and a pair of pre-loved jeans, Norma has a rich life history that screams vintage chic. She's so sixties, so stylish and so sassy...and completely unique, just like you!"

Find out more here.

Vintage Viola:

"Vintage Viola has been 'rejenerated' into a gorgeous handbag from a stunning piece of vintage fabric. Lined with the material from a pre-loved dress and topped with recycled buttons, she finally has the chance to bring her show-stopping sense of vintage chic to the new millenium. Give Viola a chance at a new life, and your sense of eco-style will be a conversation starter. "

Bondi Markets

I'll be setting up shop at Bondi Markets for the first time tomorrow (sunday). Should be fun!

Come on down and say hi if you're going to be in town.

The markets run from 10am to 5pm (this means I have to get up early on a sunday - boo!) in the grounds of Bondi Beach Public School. Just across the road from Bondi Beach on Campbell Parade.

I'll be the one with all the handbags! :)

Whoo hoo!

Wow! I just got the shock of my life. In a good way.

I was strolling to the post office, daydreaming about chocolate bullets...how do they manage to suspend the licorice pieces exactly in the centre of the chocolate like that?? It's truly mind boggling.

I digress.

Suddenly something caught my attention - a flash of polka dots, vintage fabric and salvaged leather...yep, it was a complete stranger carrying one of my handbags! Right there in the street!

So naturally I stared at her through my sunglasses in a stalker like fashion until she felt my eyes burning through her and looked at me uncomfortably.

I sensibly resisted the urge to jump up and down, point at the bag and shriek 'That's one of mine! That's one of mine!' and instead walked in the opposite direction giggling like a school girl.

That was a fun moment. The bag still looked shiny and new...which could mean that she hardly ever uses it, but I take it as a sign of superior craftmanship :)

Good times.

Sunday lovely sunday...

Yesterday was a fun day at the Newtown Designers Market...although I appear to have nodded off in this shot! I said goodbye to some of my handbags:

Met/caught up with some lovely and talented Aussie designers like Lisa from Lox + Savvy:

And perhaps best of all, the gorgeous Jenny from Paperlion (you're my favourite stalker Jenny, if you're reading this he he he) dropped by to hand deliver this gorgeous birthday gift that my mum had ordered from her for my birthday (thanks mum!) :

Palm Beach

Today I spent the day at Palm Beach walking, lunching and coffee-ing with my family in celebration of my wonderful dad's birthday.
I got to try out my new camera which was fun. Found this little guy at a local cafe. Apparently his name is Pedro. Isn't he cute??

Now off to make final preparations for Newtown Designers Markets tomorrow...

Loads of new bags being created at the moment. Here is one of my favourites, 'Seventies Sarah-Jane'. This fabric used to be a pair of curtains and it SCREAMS seventies. Love it.
Here is Sarah-Jane's story:
"Seventies Sarah-Jane is somewhat of a domestic goddess. She started life in the seventies as a pair of retro curtains but now she has been completely 'rejenerated' into a funky handbag. With vintage linen for a lining, a salvaged belt for a strap and recycled buttons for...well just cos they're pretty...Sarah-Jane is ready to leave the home and hit the town!"

Blogging & Blueberries

This photo sums up my day today. LOTS of computer work. I'm not used to staring into a screen all day anymore. BUT I'm excited about some new developments currently in the works.

More exciting blogs to come shortly I promise. Not that blueberris aren't exciting.

Lovely Autumn

I just went for my daily stroll to the post office and discovered that it is the most glorious day today. Glorious is a bit of a lame word and not one that frequents my usual vocab, but I just can't think of a better word to describe the weather in Sydney today.

I am a total summer girl, but there is definitely something about the in-between seasons that just makes me feel goooood.

I will definitely be heading to my fave picnic spot for dinner with the Mr tonight.

PS Don't hold it against me when it gets to chilly May and I'm moaning about how freezing autum is and counting down the months till summer!

Sixties Sadie

But wait! There's more! This fabric is too divine.

This is Sixties Sadie's lil' fable:

"Sixties Sadie is one sassy lady. Crafted from a vintage fabric, lined with parts of a pre-loved shirt and topped with recycled buttons, Sadie is bringing a dose of sixties sexy to the 21st century. Sadie loves going to a drive-in movie and stopping by the local milk bar, so treat her out now and again and she'll make sure you're always a picture of vintage chic."

See more here.

Exotic Ella

Things have been hectic in the Rejenerate workshop this week. I have tons of new bags available and a few exciting upcoming events.

For now, here is Exotic Ella (above) and this is her little tale:
"Exotic Ella has one helluva past! Starting life in the seventies as a stunning piece of Japanese fabric, she has been combined with parts of a salvaged obi belt, topped with recycled buttons and 'rejenerated' into a greenie's dream handbag! Ella's exotic past means that she will lend you an air of mystery and intrigue every time you sling her over your shoulder."
Check out more of Ella here.

Baby Billie Blue

"Bille may not be all blue, but she sure is a baby...well in vintage terms anyway! Starting life in the crazy eighties as a cute piece of indienne fabric, she never had her chance to shine. Now that she has been 'rejenerated' into an oh-so-cute handbag, lined with the fabric from a pre-loved shirt and topped with the cutest recycled buttons, Billie's the funkiest filly in town!"

Today I Am Obsessed With...

Today I am obsessed with these funky bangles from the 1970s.

They are one of the many items I am in love with from Bowerbird, an online vintage clothing and accessories store.

Be sure to check out their store as they have so many gorgeous and unique fashion finds...and the best part is that your green halo will be shining bright after making such a sensible and sustainable fashion choice! :)
